Tinubu Appoints Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as Next Controller-General of Federal Fire Service
President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), set to assume office on August 14, 2025.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, July 30, by retired Major General Abdulmalik Jibril, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), who conveyed the decision on behalf of the President.
Adeyemi, currently serving as Deputy Controller-General, is stepping into the role as the incumbent, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, prepares to exit the service upon reaching the statutory retirement age of 60 on August 11, 2025.
A seasoned officer with decades of experience, Adeyemi began his career with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, where he rose through the ranks to become Deputy CG overseeing the Human Resources Directorate.
Throughout his career, Adeyemi has completed all required in-service and command training, including several advanced programs both domestically and internationally. His professional qualifications include membership and fellowship in several respected bodies, such as the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.
The CDCFIB extended its gratitude to the outgoing Controller-General, Engr. Olola, praising his leadership and acknowledging the critical reforms and projects undertaken during his tenure. His contributions, the Board noted, have left a lasting impact on the modernization and efficiency of the Fire Service.
