Angela Okorie Speaks Out in Support of Naira Marley, Calls Him “Exceptionally Kind”
Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie has voiced her support for controversial music artist Naira Marley, recalling her personal experience with him in a recently shared video on social media.
In the clip, Okorie reflected on a moment from several years ago when, according to her, Naira Marley showed her an unexpected level of generosity and encouragement during a challenging time in her music career.
“It was one of my birthdays, maybe three or four years ago,” she said. “Naira Marley surprised me with a huge amount of money. I didn’t see it coming. He gave me support no one else in this industry has ever shown me.”
She described the entertainment industry as a hostile space, where jealousy often overshadows genuine support, making Marley’s gesture stand out even more.
“In this industry full of silent hate and fake smiles, Naira’s support was real. People envy you for working hard, for speaking your truth, or simply for being yourself,” she added.
Okorie also recalled visiting him afterward to express her gratitude. During that meeting, she proposed a music collaboration, which he not only accepted but promoted voluntarily.
“He was so supportive and soft-spoken. Naira Marley doesn’t fight people. He barely even talks,” she said, emphasizing her impression of him as a peaceful person.
Her comments arrive amid mounting public criticism and demands for Naira Marley to be investigated over the alleged mistreatment of his former signee, the late Mohbad. While public opinion remains divided, Okorie’s statement adds another perspective to the ongoing debate.
